SFR Brigade FanPage

The SFR Brigade FanPage is for SF/R fans and is an opportunity to promote your SF/R work. Promotion is allowed, as long as you post intermittently (for instance, not every day or not the same post multiple times per week).

How it Works

What you post will go to a special feed where administrators can then review it and post it to the main feed. Some members may be able to see what you posted before it goes to the main page, but most will not. If the administrators do not share your post, please contact Laurie A. Green, Pauline Baird Jones or Jean Walker (Veronica Scott) via FB PM to request your post be moved to the main feed.

FanPage Authors

You can also request to become a Fanpage Author if you have a FB profile account. This allows you to post directly to the main feed, however, you need to be aware of the following:

1. When you are a FanPage Author, Facebook will automatically show your ID on the page as the SFR Brigade FanPage and not your personal ID, so you'll need to switch back to your own identity to like or comment on other posts (please do not like or comment as the SFR Brigade FanPage ID).

You will not, however, change to your own ID before you post to the FanPage, or your content will not go to the main feed. Only change your ID to like or comment on posts (including your own).

If you're an admin or contributor on the SFR Brigade Fan Page and want to comment or like a post (including your own) you need to do it as yourself. Please don't like or comment as the SFR Brigade FanPage itself. Because Facebook will default to the FanPage for FanPage Authors, please follow these steps before you interact with likes and comments.
 
To change to your ID:
 
Find the line with LIKE COMMENT SHARE and look to the far right beside the SFR Brigade icon, to find a little down arrow.
 
Click the down arrow and it will give you options for your own profile or page(s) that you want to interact as.
 
Select the identity you want with your cursor and click on it.
 
Then when you “like” or comment, you’ll see your own avatar instead of the SFR Brigade FanPage avatar beside the comment or “like.”
 
Unfortunately, you'll need to repeat this process and select your alternate ID for every post where you want to comment or "Like" a post or a comment. Don't worry, once you've done it a few times, you'll find it's very easy to switch IDs.

2. You must agree to post three items of general interest to every one post promoting your own books, blog, website, etc. General interest items for SF/R fans include articles or reviews about SF/R books or movies, SF/R trailers, SF/R articles from related sites (such as io9.com), science news, space exploration news, Star Wars, Star Trek, SF/R TV series, fun SFR products, etc.
